Get3Q Customer Terms

These terms apply when you use Get3Q to get plumbing quotes. Get3Q is run by Get 3Q Pty Ltd (ABN 73 703 112 029, ACN 703 112 029) of 23 Buxton Street, North Adelaide SA 5006 ("Get3Q", "we", "us").
1. Get3Q is free for you
1.1 You pay Get3Q nothing. Plumbers pay us a fee only when they win and confirm a job.
1.2 That fee is the same for every plumber. Plumbers cannot pay to rank higher.
2. What we do
2.1 You describe a plumbing job on our website or by SMS.
2.2 We send it to up to 15 verified local plumbers who are taking jobs today. They see the job details and your suburb. They do not see your name, mobile or street address.
2.3 The first 3 bids we receive within 15 minutes become your quotes. We send them to you ranked (see clause 4).
2.4 Before a plumber gets their first job, we check they have a current QBCC licence, an active ABN and public liability insurance.
3. What we don't do
3.1 We are not a plumbing business. We don't do, supervise, inspect or guarantee any work.
3.2 We don't set prices. Each plumber sets their own.
3.3 We don't handle payment for the job. You pay the plumber directly.
3.4 Our checks in clause 2.4 happen before a plumber's first job and may be repeated later. They are not a guarantee of quality. You can check a plumber's licence yourself on the QBCC website.
4. The 15-minute promise
4.1 We aim to get you 3 quotes within 15 minutes. If we can't, we'll tell you straight away and show you whatever quotes did come in.
4.2 This is a service standard, not a guarantee of compensation.
Open decision: whether to call this a "15-minute guarantee" in marketing. If the word "guarantee" is used, the wording must make clear it means we tell you straight if we miss it, and nothing more (no refund or compensation is implied, and there is nothing to refund). A lawyer should check the headline claim is not misleading.
5. How quotes are ranked
5.1 Each quote has a price and the plumber's quote accuracy. Quote accuracy is the share of that plumber's completed Get3Q jobs where the customer said the final bill matched the quote.
5.2 A bill "matches" if the customer paid the quoted price or less. It also matches if they paid more because of a price condition written in the quote (for example, "If the concrete pad needs replacing, +$180") and the customer confirmed that condition was the reason. Jobs that didn't go ahead aren't counted.
5.3 We rank quotes by an effective price:
effective price = price × (1 + (100 − quote accuracy %) ÷ 50)
5.4 Example:

The effective price is only for ranking. You pay the plumber's actual quoted price (plus any stated price condition that applies).
5.5 Plumbers with fewer than 5 scored jobs are shown as "New" and treated as 90% for ranking.
5.6 Plumbers whose accuracy falls below 50% (after 5 or more scored jobs) are suspended and can't quote.
5.7 You can choose any quote. You don't have to choose the top one, and you don't have to choose any.
6. Contact rules
6.1 Only the plumber you choose gets your name and mobile.
6.2 They must phone you within 1 hour.
6.3 You get their number after they confirm they've called you.
6.4 If they don't call within 1 hour, reply NOCALL. We'll pass your job to the next-ranked quote.
6.5 Plumbers you didn't choose must not contact you. If one does, please tell us.
7. Your contract is with the plumber
7.1 When you accept a quote, your agreement for the work is between you and the plumber. Get3Q is not a party to it.
7.2 Agree the details directly with the plumber: scope, timing, price, any price conditions, and how you'll pay.
7.3 If something goes wrong with the work, raise it with the plumber first. You can also contact the QBCC or Queensland's Office of Fair Trading. Tell us too: it may affect the plumber's standing on Get3Q.
8. Your consumer rights
8.1 Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Those include consumer guarantees that apply to the plumber's work and to our service.
8.2 Where the law allows us to limit our liability for our own service, we limit it to supplying the service again. [Lawyer to confirm wording.]
9. Honest answers
9.1 After the job we'll ask you one question: did the final bill match the quote?
9.2 Please answer honestly. Your answer affects the plumber's ranking and, if it falls low enough, whether they can keep using Get3Q.
9.3 Don't accept anything from a plumber in exchange for your answer. If a plumber offers you something or pressures you about your answer, please tell us.
9.4 Plumbers can dispute an answer. If they do, we may contact you to check it. We will not change your answer just because it is negative.
9.5 If the job didn't go ahead or the plumber didn't show, tell us. Those jobs aren't counted in the plumber's score.
10. SMS and email
10.1 By posting a job you agree to receive texts and emails about it: your quotes, contact updates, and the follow-up question.
10.2 Reply STOP to stop texts from us at any time. If you do this while a job is open, we may not be able to send you your quotes.
10.3 We'll only send you marketing if you've agreed to it, and you can unsubscribe from any marketing message.
10.4 Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.
11. Complaints
11.1 Email [email protected] or reply to any of our texts.
11.2 We'll acknowledge your complaint within [2] business days and aim to resolve it within [10] business days.
11.3 If you're not satisfied, you can contact Queensland's Office of Fair Trading. For privacy complaints, see our privacy policy.
12. General
12.1 We may update these terms. The version that applies is the one on our website when you post your job.
12.2 These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland.
